What You'll Learn
Reporting to the board of directors is one of the most important responsibilities of a bank Security Officer. Federal regulations require the Security Officer to provide the board with an annual report addressing the implementation, administration, and effectiveness of the institution’s security program. Yet many Security Officers are left asking the same question: “What exactly should be included in that report?” This informative and interactive session is designed to answer that question by providing practical guidance and industry best practices for preparing meaningful and effective board reports. Participants will learn how to move beyond simply meeting the minimum regulatory requirement and instead provide directors with valuable information that supports informed oversight and risk management. The course will review the regulatory expectations surrounding annual board reporting and discuss how examiners often evaluate the effectiveness of security program communication. Attendees will gain insight into the types of information boards expect to receive and how Security Officers can present that information clearly, professionally, and strategically.
