AI Models for Faster Payments Reality

10.13.26 | 12:00 PM EST
Instructor: Angela Murphy

Course Duration: 1 HR

What You'll Learn

This webinar equips payments, risk, and compliance leaders with a working command of AI governance in the faster payments environment, where fraud decisions must now be made in seconds and settlement is final. The session compares the distinct transaction profiles of FedNow and RTP, walks through the revised interagency model risk management guidance (SR 26-2) and its narrowed definition of a model, and examines the 2026 Nacha fraud monitoring rules now in effect. Participants will also review current federal and international data on AI-enabled fraud, including FBI tracking data and a Bank for International Settlements proof of concept on machine learning versus rules-based detection, before closing with governance practices drawn from the Financial Stability Board's twelve sound practices, the Federal Reserve's internal AI deployment approach, and vendor model expectations. Attendees leave with primary source documents, current benchmarking data, and a defensible framework for governing three distinct classes of AI systems under three different supervisory regimes.
