Instant payments rely on instant settlement. In this session, the Payments Professor breaks down how settlement, liquidity management, and reconciliation work within the FedNow® Service highlighting what financial institutions must know to stay compliant and operationally ready in a 24x7x365 world.

How FedNow® settlement works and what roles correspondents and RTNs play.

Liquidity management tools, including pacs.009 transfers and LMT limits.

How to manage account balances under the Payment System Risk (PSR) policy.

What FedNow® reports are available for daily reconciliation and audit prep.

How to use ISO® 20022 messaging (like camt.054, camt.060, pacs.002) for real-time account management.

Your Instructor

Kevin Olsen is a certified AAP (Accredited ACH Professional), APRP (Accredited Payments Risk Professional), NCP (National Check Professional), as well as a certified NCP Instructor with additional computer network, database, and security settings. Over the past couple decades, Kevin has been involved with product creation, design, implementation, education, and consulting for multiple platforms within remote deposit capture, ACH, and faster payments. Kevin has worked with financial institutions of all sizes in multiple countries to create products services, departments, systems, teams, and results that help financial institutions become more productive, compliant, and secure.
